Possibly the best mondegreen video ever.
Today’s is a rare post where the recipe comes from me, although it can hardly be called a recipe.
A recent snow day prevented me from getting to the grocery store. Fortunately, from a well stocked pantry came the makings of this super (souper—Ha!) soup.
Seriously, in just 5 minutes you have a steaming bowl of spicy, thick Tex-Mex style soup. (a little longer if you don’t have cooked rice in your fridge, but that is easy to omit.) The garnishes make it almost like a chili or dip.
Ingredients:
1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
16 oz medium heat salsa
1 (15 oz) can Mexicorn
1 cup water
1 chicken bouillon cube
1 (14.5 oz) can minestrone soup
1/2 cup cooked Basmatic rice
Garnishes such as sliced olives, sliced green onion, shredded cheddar, sliced jalapeños, sour cream and tortilla chips
Directions:
1. Add all ingredients into a soup pot and heat through.
How about some Scottish Mondegreen? ‘Aberdoom!’ is the title track of the Glasgow band’s 2012 EP. Really good stuff…. and I understand every line of the lyrics.
Check out Mondegreen on Facebook and Bandcamp, where you can get their music.
Cheers!
That soup looks fantastic! Excellent blog.
Yours in good taste,
Matthew, that guy from that band Mondegreen
Thank you for the wonderful music!
