It was another sweet year for I Sing In The Kitchen. Specifically the sweet recipes which once again won the popularity contest.
Coming in at Number 1 with the most views in 2015 is that beauty in the photo above: Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Overload Cake. This is its second year in the top 5.
To quote myself:
“It’s a super chocolatety cake covered in a not too sweet, silky smooth peanut butter icing and topped with a rich chocolate ganache. Tucked between each cake layer, and on top, is a good dose of chopped peanut butter cups.”
The 2nd most popular recipe was Crunchers which has made the top 5 list the past 3 years.
Once again I am going to quote myself:
“Crunchers are dessert bars which combine a buttery graham caramel layered between crackers and topped with a chocolate-peanut butter-butterscotch coating.
Incredibly sinful and totally recommended. At once sweet and salty, Crunchers are a butterscotch version of homemade Twix Candy Bars.”
If you haven’t tried the recipe yet, make that a 2016 resolution. (Crunchers Revisited, a more detailed go at the recipe, is below at Number 4.)
The Number 3 recipe is a new top fiver.
Lemonies (Lemony Brownies) are not quite lemon bars and not really brownies. They’re a fusion of the two packed with lemon flavor and a tangy glaze that hardens a bit as it sets. Fantastic.
Number 4 in the countdown is Crunchers Revisited.
That post came about in response to some readers who let me know that they were getting disastrous results from the Crunchers recipe. I remade the recipe paying close attention to the directions to get a sense of where things might have gone awry. I included more step by step photos which you might find helpful.
And last, but not least, is Caramel Cake coming in at Number 5.
You would never guess that this delicate vanilla cake starts with a mix. The sweet and rich caramel icing sets into a delicious shell that is the perfect textural contrast to the cake within.
Such beautiful desserts would love a little messy music.
Do you think?
Sure.
Blankus Larry, a DC/VA area band, have a new single out titled ‘Your Boy Is Bad’ and it’s goooooood.
On the band’s Soundcloud page they list the members as:
Bloody Larry:Drums
Durdy Larry:NonDrums
Neon Larry:Organ
San Pedro Larry:Recording Engineer
Facebook had a few more:
Marion Larry: guitar, vox
Ding-a-lingous Larry: bass
Blutarticus Larry: vox, synths
Cuzin’ Larry: upright bass
Because they are evidently unanimously anonymous.
Cracks me up.
Check out Blankus Larry on Facebook. You can buy their music on Bandcamp.
Cheers!
