The Brandy Crusta cocktail, with its characteristic long lemon peel garnish and crusted sugar rim (the “crusta”), was invented around 1850 in New Orleans. It’s a refreshing, citrus laced drink with a kick. Sort of like a brandy margarita.
Ingredients:
2 oz brandy
Granulated sugar
1 tsp Cointreau
1 Tbs fresh lemon juice
2 dashes of Angostura bitters
Long strip of lemon peel
Directions:
1. Slice a lemon in half. Rub the rim of a cocktail glass with the lemon and dip into sugar to coat the edge.
2. Shake brandy, lemon juice, Cointreau and bitters in a shaker with ice and strain into the prepared glass. Add lemon peel.
I’m going to turn up the volume, grab my drink and dance around to Monogem’s new song “Follow You”.
Check out Monogem on the band’s Website, where you can keep tuned to find out when the music will be available to purchase.
Cheers!
