Remember this? “ZE Plane!”
Ah, television in the 1970s.
All In The Family, The Brady Bunch, The Bob Newhart Show, M*A*S*H, The Six Million Dollar Man, The Partridge Family, Mary Tyler Moore, The Odd Couple, Nanny And The Professor, The Love Boat, Fantasy Island….I watched them all and still love reruns that I see to this date.
That little tidbit of ‘Tricia Television Viewing History’ brought to you by this Fantasy Island Cocktail, which made me think of the show Fantasy Island for the first time in about 30 years.
Back to the cocktail. Sweet and fruity with a hint of coconut, it is just the thing to sip on a warm beach while you watch the waves come in.
If March is cold and dreary where you are (like it is here), you can get that tropical feeling by whipping up a Fantasy Island Cocktail. Just pair it with music and not some cheesy old TV show, okay? :)
Ingredients:
2 ounces coconut rum
1 ounce melon liqueur
2 ounces pineapple juice
Pineapple chunk
Maraschino cherries
Directions:
1. Combine rum, melon liqueur and pineapple juice in an ice-filled shaker. Shake well, strain into martini glass. Granish with pineapple wedge and cherries.

‘Strange Planes (Cold Mix)’ is like going back in time to the riveting electro-techno synth driven music of the late 1970s.
Check out Something Cold on Bandcamp, where you can buy the music.
Cheers!
