This recipe is a really good version of an old stand by. Very quick, very easy. Just add chopsticks.
Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry
Ingredients:
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup hoisin sauce
1/4 cup sherry
2 Tbs soy sauce
2 tsp sesame oil
2 tsp cornstarch
3 Tbs vegetable oil
1 lb thinly sliced flank steak
1 lb broccoli florets
1 red bell pepper, sliced (add a jalapeño, too, if you like a spicier dish)
6 garlic cloves, minced
1 Tbs grated ginger
Directions:
1. Mix water, hoisin, sherry, soy sauce, sesame oil and cornstarch in a bowl.
2. Heat 1 Tbs oil in wok. Cook half of steak until browned, about 2 minutes. Transfer to bowl and repeat with additional Tbs oil and remaining steak.
3. Add broccoli, bell pepper and remaining oil to wok and cook, covered, for about 5 minutes. Add ginger and garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Return steak and any accumulated juices to the pan. Stir in hoisin mixture and cook until thickened, about 2 minutes.

I’m afraid the broccoli in the stir fry is a different type of green to that in this song.
The Early November-Dinner At The Money Table
I don’t know about you, but I am crazy about Florence & The Machine. No, the band has nothing to do with dinner, beef, broccoli or stir fries. They just popped into my head as I was thinking about the Mardi Gras Cupcakes. Typical me and my flight of ideas. Although these days, when am I not thinking of cupcakes? Anyway back to the music.
I think Florence Welch is gorgeous and I am all over her cool sense of style. The band’s album, ‘Lungs’, is just song after song of musical goodness.

Aww. I saw it had broccoli in it and was hoping youd have some song ideas for this next cp! Dang. The food looks amazing as usual. And I am proud of you or bringing out some early November!
i was hoping the same thing! i’m trying to think outside the box on this one, but i’m coming up short.
You and James are too funny! This broccoli post was purely coincidental as I tried to line up some posts before I went away.
Anyhow, I had three solid (ish) broccoli songs (ish) and Tim okayed one. The boy chooses a tough topic!!!
