Tonight is the midseason finale of the final season of Mad Men. So, if you are as huge a fan as I am, this is a night to look forward to.

To celebrate, what could be more appropriate than Don Draper’s favorite drink, the Old Fashioned Cocktail?

Just muddle some sugar with bitters and fruit and mix in some bourbon (or brandy if you like). It’s a smooth, retro drink that is perfect for high end soap opera sipping.

Ingredients:

1 sugar cube
3 dashes of bitters
1 slice orange
2 maraschino cherries
Ice
2 ounces bourbon

Directions:

1. Add the sugar cube, bitters, orange slice and cherries to an old fashioned glass. Use a small spoon to muddle the sugar into the other ingredients so it begins to dissolve.

2. Add ice to the glass and top with bourbon. Stir well.
