We had our first snow day this past Wednesday. What better way to celebrate than to make Snow Ice Cream? Fast and Fun. And Sweet.
Snow Ice Cream
Ingredients:
1 cup milk
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 cup skim milk
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
Approximately 3 quarts snow
1. Mix all ingredients and serve.
You are probably wondering about all the different kinds of dairy in the ingredients. That is just a guideline based on what I had on hand. You can use any combination of milk and cream that you like. Or just milk. Or just cream. It still always tastes yummy.
Here are two songs for you.

Cheers and stay warm!
I was tempted to try this the other day, but just didn’t get up the nerve. So, chocolate sauce on this???
Chocolate sauce or caramel sauce. I also like that Magic Shell stuff. My kids wanted theirs plain (???). I let them do all of the mixing and they had a blast.
I was going ask about the chocolate sauce. I think have a caramel sauce left over from a trip to McDonald’s. The child gets the apples. The Momma saves the caramel sauce. I think I’ll have one of each!
Hope mine looks as good in a plastic IKEA bowl!
I usually serve up the kiddie’s ice cream in plastic Red Sox “hat” bowls. If I put a photo of that up today I would be in for trouble, I’m sure!
We will try it next time it snows. I’m going to make a fresh batch of caramel sauce today. My last was a bit too thin, but it was perfect in lattes!
Mmmm…caramel lattes. I never made one at home. Do you add the caramel with the frothed milk or to the coffee or drizzle over?
This is going to sound like a cop-out, but I like it either way, and often mix it in as well as adding a drizzle. Yum.
This looks better than the recipe I have. I’ll give it a try next time around! (As if I needed another reason to look forward to snow!)
