Good ole graham/Hershey/marshmallow s’mores are a wonderful summertime treat. Then I saw this recipe which uses Jules Destrooper Crisp Butter Wafers, which I adore. I wasn’t so sure about orange chocolate, but I went ahead and used it.
Truly amazing s’mores that taste nothing like the original, but kind of do at the same time, if that makes sense. The butter wafers stay really crisp and encase the gooey mess of marshmallow and chocolate. The hint of orange was delicious, too.
The recipe uses the microwave, but you could easily toast your marshmallows over a grill. Make some Adult Capri Suns to go along with your Grownup S’mores and you can be glad you are not a little kid anymore.
1 box Jules Destrooper Crisp Butter Wafers
1 bar orange dark chocolate such as Ghirardelli Citrus Sunset Intense Dark Chocolate or Green & Black’s Dark Chocolate With Orange
1 bag marshmallows
1. For each s’more, top 1 wafer with 2 squares of chocolate and 2 marshmallows.
2. Microwave on high 10 to 12 seconds or just until marshmallows begin to puff up.
3. Top with another wafer and eat while warm. (Although, the leftovers were fantastic the next day while cool)
