I know that my kitten would probably love to frolic in the snow, but being such a little guy I’d be afraid that he would bolt and I would never find him.
After a day frolicking in the snow…or not…a steaming bowl of Pepperoni Pizza Chili would be most welcome.
I shared a similar recipe here, but I think I like this version of pepperoni pizza chili better. The addition of sausage, salsa and chili powder really up the flavor quotient.
Another fantastic thing about this recipe is that it is super easy and makes a whole lot, so it is perfect party food.
Ingredients:
2 pounds ground beef
1 pound bulk hot Italian sausage
1 large onion, chopped
1 large green pepper, chopped
4 garlic cloves, minced
16 ounces salsa
1 can (16 ounces) hot chili beans, undrained
1 can (16 ounces) kidney beans, rinsed and drained
12 ounces pizza sauce
8 ounces sliced pepperoni, halved
1 cup water
2 teaspoons chili powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
3 cups (12 ounces) shredded mozzarella cheese
Directions:
1. In a Dutch oven, cook the beef, sausage, onion, green pepper and garlic over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain.
2. Stir in the salsa, beans, pizza sauce, pepperoni, water, chili powder, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 20 minutes or until heated through.
3. Sprinkle chili with cheese before serving.
Serves 12 (3 quarts)

I’m off to Burlington, VT tonight to see Keane in concert. I’m excited because it is an all ages show and my kids are all coming with me. It will be the first concert for two of the four of them. Can never start them out too young.
Probably their most famous song and a favorite of mine.
Cheers!

That looks nice. I actually made some pepperoni chili inadvertently when I added some leftover spaghetti sauce to my chili. It was all worth I when my wife said, “This is…chili?” It’s awesome.
That’s great! Mmmm…I love all kinds of chili. Wish I had some right now.
