Chocolate Cherry Cocktail

Music helps ease me into Mondays.

Cocktails don’t hurt either. Especially a sweet sipper drowning in whipped cream. (I have to confess that this post isn’t in real time, although it would be awfully nice to tuck into one of these drinks at 10 in the morning. It would probably do wonders for the lingering, horrible cough I am battling.)

Chocolate Cherry Cocktail

Ingredients:

1/4 cup chocolate syrup
1 1/2 cups chocolate liqueur (such as Godiva)
1 1/2 cups milk
6 Tbs whipped cream or non-dairy whipped topping
6 maraschino cherries with stems
2 Tbs grated semisweet chocolate

Directions:

1. Spoon 2 teaspoons chocolate syrup into each of 6 martini glasses.

2. In a small bowl, stir together liqueur and milk. Pour about 1/2 cup liqueur mixture into each glass. Top evenly with whipped cream, cherries and grated chocolate. (Note: if you are trying to photograph your drink, be quick. The cherry sinks FAST!)

A sweet cocktail could use a sweet song to sip by.

I love how retro this song is. That drum beat. The drawn out “your lo-ah-o-ah-ove”. So good.
