Short And Sweet. Oreo Frogs.

I know. I think calling these treats ‘frogs’ is a bit of a stretch. Who cares? They’re cute and they are easy to make.

You know who my favorite frog of all time is?

Oreo Frogs

Ingredients:

2 oz semisweet chocolate
2 Tbs butter
12 Oreo cookies
1/4 cup marshmallow creme
24 miniature pretzel twists
24 M & Ms
24 (1/4 inch) candy eyes

Directions:

1. Line a baking sheet with waxed paper.

2. Microwave chocolate and butter in high for 1 minute or until chocolate is melted. Mix well until smooth.

3. Spread bottom of each cookie with 1 tsp marshmallow creme. Dip bottom into melted chocolate and press 2 pretzel twists into chocolate for each frog’s legs, with the wide part of each pretzel facing outward. Place, pretzel-side down, on waxed paper.

4. Use remaining melted chocolate to attach candy eyes to M & Ms, then M & Ms to tops of cookies for the frogs’ eyes.

Adapted from Favorite Brand Name Recipes (Can you guess that the candy eyes were my idea?)

I made these predominantly because I thought they were cute. I was completely unprepared for how delicious they would taste. The soft creme in the now set up chocolate with the salty hint from the pretzel is total YUM. And, of course, there was Oreo in there, too.

And now a short Froggie Tune.
