Warm Up With Asian Dumpling Soup And Hot Music

This is the quickest soup EVAH. (Not including opening a can of Campbells). Just add as much veg as you like, drop in the dumplings and presto…soup’s on.

Asian Dumpling Soup

Ingredients:

2 garlic cloves, minced
2 inch piece of peeled, minced ginger
1 Tbs oil
1 bunch green onions, sliced
3 cups chicken broth
3 cups water
1 Tbs soy sauce
1 Tbs sherry
Shredded cooked chicken
Sliced carrots
Sliced snow peas
Sesame oil
Frozen Asian dumplings

Directions:

1. Fry garlic, ginger and green onion in oil for about a minute.

2. Add chicken broth, water, soy sauce and sherry. Bring to the boil.

3. Add chicken, carrots, snow peas and dumplings. Cook until dumplings are tender.

4. Drizzle sesame oil over.

Serves 4 (Definitely double. It is such an easy soup to make and it reheats beautifully)

I make a new playlist every month to listen to while I run. These songs are from my January 2011 playlist, but I keep dipping into them during my February runs. I like to put new stuff that I’ve acquired next to old favorites.

The Black Keys album ‘Brothers’ came out in May of 2010, but it only reached my radar in December and it wasn’t until January that I purchased the cd. It is FANTASTIC. Every song. Period. Crank this one up.

‘The Greatest Show On Earth’ is from the 2008 self titled release from The Felice Brothers. I love this song more with every listen.

“I’m in a suit of burgundy
There’s a deerhead lookin at me
It’s blowin my mind away”

Why do I love those lyrics so much? Who knows. I’m singing them loud, though.

‘Empty-Hall-Sing-Along’ has all of those starts and stops and musical changes that drive me to HAPPY CRAZY! From those “Ah Huh’s” at the beginning of the song to the slow downs for the “A long way from dying” s. I could run 5 miles playing just this song on repeat.

Cheers and keep warm. Even better….stay hot!
