This video is a little on the long side, but the baby is so darned cute singing her little heart out.
Today’s recipe is super fantastic and a cinch to make. It’s great for guests since you can prep it ahead of time and pop it in the oven just before they arrive.
If cheesy bread with bacon and a spicy kick sounds like your thing, make this. Only problem I had was I used Ciabatta bread since it was all I could find, and it was a little challenging to pull apart the bread. Fortunately, my guests didn’t care and we all savagely pulled at the loaf knowing we would be rewarded with every bite.
Ingredients:
1 (16oz) round sourdough loaf, unsliced
8 oz cream cheese, softened
2 Tbs pickled jalapeño pepper juice
1 tsp garlic powder
1/4 cup diced picked jalapeño peppers
3 Tbs bacon bits
1 cup Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350℉.
2. Using a sharp bread knife slice the bread in both directions. Do not cut through the bottom crust.
3. Mix together cream cheese, jalapeño pepper juice and garlic powder. Spread cream cheese mixture in between cuts. Sprinkle diced jalapeño peppers and bacon bits on bread, and use your fingers or a spoon to push them between the cuts. Top bread with cheese, also getting it in between cuts.
4. Wrap the entire loaf in foil (non-stick foil is ideal) and place on a baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes. Unwrap and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted.

‘Before You’ is from Carousel’s new album, “Palms”, out earlier this month.
Nice, breezy pop that would be perfect on the beach.
Check out Carousel on the band’s Website, where you can learn about an upcoming LA gig. You can buy their music here.
Cheers!

Very good, used sourdough bread and had trouble pulling it apart despite my deep knife cuts. I would try again with a different bread.
I agree that the type of bread makes all the difference.
