Caramel Apple Pie

Again, this video has nothing to do with anything. It’s more entertaining than me going on and on about how good this pie is.

Caramel Apple Pie

Ingredients for crust:

1 box (15 oz) Pillsbury refrigerated pie crusts
1/4 cup chopped pecans

Ingredients for filling:

3/4 cup sugar
2 Tbs flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp nutmeg
1 Tbs lemon juice
6 medium apples, peeled and sliced

Ingredients for topping:

1/3 cup caramel topping
1/4 cup chopped pecans

Directions:

1. Preheat oven 425℉F

2. Prepare pie crusts according to pkg directions for a two crust pie. Sprinkle 1/4 cup pecans in bottom of pie crust lined pan.

3. In large bowl, mix together filling ingredients. Spoon into crust. Top with second crust. Seal edge and flute (or try to :) Cut slits into top crust. Brush with water and sprinkle lightly with additional sugar.

4. Bake about 45 minutes or until crust is golden brown. Cool at least one hour before serving.

5. Drizzle with caramel topping and sprinkle on the chopped pecans.

I love the spaghetti western whistling that starts this song. It is just plain lo-fi fun.
