A beautiful drink, like this Sparkling Port Cocktail, will be most welcome tonight (or next weekend for Valentine’s Day). The port gives sparkling wine a lovely pink hue and a hint of sweetness, while the orange adds a subtle citrusy note.

Sparkling Port Cocktail

Ingredients:

2 thin orange slices
1 tablespoon port wine
2 dashes orange bitters
Sparkling wine

Directions:

1. Muddle orange slices with port and orange bitters in a cocktail glass.

2. Top with sparkling wine.

One of my favorite things about Fridays is that Steve and Rich, from Drunk Mule, start a Twitter party of sorts. Their Friday Follow tweets have made me some new internet friends and led me to lots of new music. Those guys always bring a smile to my face.
