This isn’t so much a recipe as it is a fantastic idea to shake up your usual snack mix.

Have I ever told you how much I love Twizzlers? They are, hands down, my favorite candy.

I can’t see a movie in the theaters without a big bag of them.

I keep a pack in the kitchen desk for emergencies.

The only pregnancy craving I ever had was for Twizzlers. Good luck trying to find them in England and Ireland. There was a bit of a crisis when I was over there for a wedding in my 5th month and we couldn’t find any Twizzlers. There was plenty of black licorice, but my craving was limited to the strawberry twists. My Irish sister-in-law managed to get me a 5 pound box of red string licorice, which made the trip doable, but the first thing I did back in the US was buy Twizzlers at the airport.

There. Now you know about my love affair with Twizzlers, which is probably why I love this snack mix so much. The chewy twists partner perfectly with crisp roasted pecans and sweet, crunchy caramel corn.

Of course, the recipe doubles and triples easily, which is what I did to make individual snack packets for my son’s baseball team as an after game treat.

Twizzlers-Caramel Corn Snack Mix

Ingredients:

12 Twizzlers strawberry twists
4 cups caramel popcorn
1 cup toasted pecan halves

Directions:

1. Cut Twizzlers into 1-inch pieces.

2. Combine with caramel corn and pecan halves
