Crunchers

Were you wondering what posts were the most popular here at I Sing In The Kitchen in 2014?

Let me go ahead and tell you.

For the second year in a row, Crunchers was the most viewed recipe. Those are them in the photo at the top of the page.

To quote myself:

“Crunchers are dessert bars which combine a buttery graham caramel layered between crackers and topped with a chocolate-peanut butter-butterscotch coating.

Incredibly sinful and totally recommended. At once sweet and salty, Crunchers are a butterscotch version of homemade Twix Candy Bars.”

Coming in at Number 2 is the ridiculously outrageous Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Overload Cake. It’s a super chocolatety cake covered in a not too sweet, silky smooth peanut butter icing and topped with a rich chocolate ganache. Tucked between each cake layer, and on top, is a good dose of chopped peanut butter cups.

The third most popular recipe was for Lazy Cake Cookie Bars, another 2013 top fiver. Just 4 ingredients and 30 minutes of your time and you have a big batch of crunchy cookie bars packed with mini chocolate chips.

The sole savory recipe to make the top 5 is for Unwrapped Bacon Scallops, the 4th most popular.

Not a surprise that a recipe with bacon in it would be popular. This dish has all the flavors of those little bacon wrapped scallop appetizers with the addition of some vegetables and rice.

And last, but not least, is Oreo Dream Extreme Cheesecake. This recipe was also in the top 5 for 2013, so a real favorite, as it should be. It’s a cookies and cream lover’s dream come true.

Really good recipes should be accompanied by excellent music. This supremely good slice of 'Australiana' is the debut single from a new Melbourne artist called The Outdoor Type.

Check out The Outdoor Type on Facebook and Soundcloud, where “Are You Happy” is being offered as a free download. An EP is due out soon this year.

Cheers!
